Who we are

Design Commons is a home for interior designers, architects, and landscape designers who believe that creativity grows stronger in community. We know that the best ideas spark through shared knowledge, mutual inspiration, and the everyday connections that remind us why we love this work.

Our mission is simple: to create a supportive hub where designers can work, learn, and grow their businesses alongside one another. It’s not just a workspace - it’s a place to find connection, mentorship, and collaboration when you want it, with the freedom to create on your own when you need it.

Design Commons is about cultivating a community that’s inclusive, inspiring, and forward-thinking - a place that celebrates creativity while giving you the structure and support to help your business thrive.

About the Founder

Design Commons was founded with a simple idea: creative professionals deserve a space that supports both our work and our community. After a decade of working in a small studio or at home with little human interaction day-to-day, I saw firsthand how isolating it could feel to run a design-focused business without access to the right resources or a network of peers. The Commons was born out of a desire to change that - to create a place where inspiration, tools, and collaboration are always within reach.

For me, this project is enormously personal. I’ve always believed that design isn’t just about beautiful spaces, it’s about the connections we make and the ideas we share. By bringing designers and creatives together under one roof, the Commons becomes more than a workspace: it’s a community that celebrates community over competition, and where every member has something valuable to contribute. I deeply believe in the power of this place we’ll share together.

Starting Design Commons was about filling a gap I felt in my own career - a hub where you can spread out samples, meet with clients in a professional setting, and feel supported by people who truly understand the creative process. An actual designated time and place to talk shop! It’s my way of building the kind of environment I always wished existed, and opening the doors for others who are on their own business-building journey.
